Previously, Mr. Burns spent fifteen years in
various financial management positions with Chesebrough-Pond’s
Inc. in Greenwich. This included extensive corporate accounting/
finance experience as well as seven years in the international arena,
and culminated with three years as CFO of an overseas manufacturing
subsidiary. At various times, his responsibilities included
treasury, tax, foreign exchange, insurance, financial reporting and
forecasting, and review and development of systems, policies and
procedures. He also spent four years as a member of the audit
staff of Arthur Young & Company in New York City.
Mr. Burns received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Accounting from Fordham University and an MBA degree in Financial
Management from Iona College. He earned his CPA certificate in
both New York and Connecticut and is a member of both the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society
of CPAs.
Burns & Co., LLC is a member of the Southbury
Business Association, Woodbury Business Association and the Better
Business Bureau, Connecticut.
Mr. Burns is also Treasurer, and past president,
of the Southbury Business Association. He resides in Woodbury
with his wife Teresa and their daughter Jill.

financial services to business and individual clients, including tax
planning and tax return preparation, monthly bookkeeping, and audits,
reviews and compilations of financial statements. Mr. Burns is a
Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and is also a qualified peer
reviewer in the State of Connecticut. Prior to starting up his
own business in 1996, he spent eight years as a Partner with another
CPA firm in Newtown, where he provided the same range of services to
his clients.
